What is Checkeo and how does it work?

What are the particularities of Checkeo checkers?

On Checkeo, each checker has its own configuration:

  • A type of resolution: single-step, multi-step, sequential
  • A number of steps if applicable
  • A type of solution specific to each step: keyword, contact details, etc.
  • Final coordinates and possible photo-clue revealed once the checker is solved
You can test creating a checker here.

Are there test checkers?

Of course!
You can test the resolution on the following checkers:

  • Single-step checker here
  • Non-sequential multi-step checker here
  • Sequential multi-step checker here
And you don't need to have an account for this.

Can I create checkers for Multi-Caches?

This is one of the particularities of Checkeo: the possibility of creating checkers for multi-caches, with step-by-step validation.

This allows you to validate each step individually, in the order of your choice.
Also, no more calculations needed for the final coordinates.

Can I modify my checkers without limits?

As long as your checker has not been used by a player, you can modify it at will.
Once a player has started solving your checker, you cannot change its type or number of steps.
However, you can always modify the solutions and final information.

Can I continue solving a checker later?

Another feature specific to Checkeo.

For multi-step checkers, your progress is saved.
Start then come back to it in one, two or three months, your progress will resume exactly where you left off.

Why is the number of trials limited?

In order to limit abuse or brute force resolutions, the number of attempts is limited to {{maxTries}} errors in {{period}} minutes.
This solution was preferred to the implementation of captchas or other more intrusive solutions.

Can I view the activity of other players on a checker?

Only the owner of a checker can access all player activity on it.
He can thus consult the answers entered, the players who have solved, etc.

Players only have access to their own activity or resolution counters.

On a solved checker, do I have to re-enter the solution to see the final information?

Pretty convenient, isn't it?

Once a checker is solved, the final information is automatically displayed each time the checker is accessed.
